The Cowan Foundation assists the YMCA Alternative Suspension Program

The Cowan Foundation presented a cheque for $150,000 to support a successful program run by the YMCA across Canada. The program provides guidance to teens while they are away from school on suspension to help them succeed when they return.

“YMCA’s Alternative Suspension Program has a proven track record and has shown positive results in assisting teens when they are suspended from school, since its inception in 1999,” explained Terry Reidel, Executive Director, The Cowan Foundation. “We are pleased to donate funds to this initiative to help ensure that participating schools continue to have the tools to transform time away from school into success for the students, the schools, and the overall community.”
